CAIRO – 25 August 2020: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Inas Abdel-Dayem recieved Khaled Fouda, governor of South Sinai, at the ministry's headquarters to discuss a plan to develop the Culture Palace in El-Tor city.
The meeting was held in the presence of Deputy Governor Enas Samir, President of the General Authority for Cultural Palaces Ahmed Awad, and Consultant Walid Omar, within the framework of the governorate’s plan to develop Tor Sinai.
During the meeting, the Minister of Culture was briefed on the progressive presentation on the development of the Palace of Culture in the city of El-Tor, which included the current situation of the theater and the engineering concept to raise its efficiency and organize corridors, entrances and exits and lighting.
Abdel Dayem commended the perception of the development process and directed to add some technical capabilities according to the needs of the shows.
The Governor of South Sinai also indicated the importance of maintaining the mobile theater located in the city of El-Tor in order to spread culture within the cities, develop the cultural awareness of the people of the governorate, establish folklore groups from the people of El-Tor and the Bedouins, and add halls to train folk groups, refine their talents and qualify their capabilities.
Work was also discussed to promote the tourism and cultural promotion of the province and the intensification of cultural and artistic activities in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture.
The Minister of Culture has assigned Ahmed Awad, head of the Culture Palaces Authority, to visit the city of Tor Sinai during the month of September to follow up the process of developing the palace in preparation for its accession to the cultural work system.
