CAIRO – 19 August 2020: The activities of the fifth edition of the Golden Voice competition, held annually by the Cultural Development Fund sector headed by Fat-hy Abdel-Wahab, will conclude on Aug. 22 at 8 p.m.

 

As part of the concert’s program, youth who have been qualified for the competition will perform a collection of songs from the golden era. The concert will be followed by honoring the judging committee and announcing the winners.

 

The Golden Voice competition jury consists of a group of prominent artists and academics and is headed by Mustafa Mohamed; Hany Shenouda, Iman Mustafa, Medhat Abdul Samea and Ahmed Ibrahim are all jury members.

 

The first stage of the qualifiers was held in February 2020. The second phase of the competition was held online, and the number of qualified talents during that stage reached 49 out of 120 contestants from the governorates of North Sinai, Assiut, Minya, Luxor, Menoufia, Damietta, Gharbia, Beheira, Damietta, Dakahliya, Gharbia and Qalyubia, in addition to Cairo and Giza. 

 

Participants from the border governorates and southern Upper Egypt were exempted from paying subscription fees.

 

During the third stage of the competition, Iman Mustafa, the professor of singing at the Conservatoire, and Mustafa Najdi began training 15 new talents who passed the tests of the third and final phase of the competition, to determine the first ten winners. 

 

The Development Fund offers the winners scholarships at the House of Arab Singing, in addition to monetary prizes for the first three winners.
