US Embassy in Cairo to organise live concert for Filligar Rock band on August 10

CAIRO – 9 August 2020: US Embassy in Cairo will organise a Facebook live concert for the American Rock band Filligaron August 10.

Filligar is an alternative American rock band composed of Casey Gibson (keyboards) and brothers Johnny (guitar, vocals), Teddy (bass), and Pete (drums) Mathias.

The band has a versatile, evolving sound captured in a prolific catalogue of eight studio albums. Their music is heralded by some of the country’s top critics and publications—from American Songwriter to SPIN Magazine.  

The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) has designated the band’s repertoire as "of prestige value." The United States Department of State has also recognized the artistic merit of Filligar's music, calling on the band to serve as cultural ambassadors representing “the very best of the U.S. Arts Community” across the world from South America, to the Middle East and Asia. 

Filligar are veterans of the U.S. tour circuit headlining iconic venues including The Roxy (LA), Bowery Ballroom (NYC), and Lincoln Hall (Chicago). 

They have joined hallmark American acts on stage such as GRAMMY-winning artists Counting Crows. The members of Filligar are also entrepreneurs, having launched their own music, media and creative endeavours. The band resides in Los Angeles, California.
