CAIRO – 20 July 2020: The Cinema Culture Center of the National Center for Cinema, affiliated with the Cultural Production Affairs Sector headed by director Khaled Galal, will present three documentary films at the headquarters of the Cinema Culture Center in Cairo’s Downtown on July 22 starting 7 p.m.
President of the National Center for Cinema Souad Shawky said that the center is interested in acquainting new generations with the history of documentary films, and the most important and most famous documentaries, in light of the importance of this form of art and its rapid impact on ideas, conscience, and public taste.
Film Critic Magdy el-Shahry, director general of the Cinema Culture Center, explained that three classic documentary films will screen, namely “El-Nas Wal Boheira” [People and the Lake] directed by Hisham el-Nahas; and “El-Rayes Gaber” [Gaber The Boss] and “Hadeeth El-Samt” directed by Ali el-Ghazouli.
He noted that the Cinema Culture Center adheres to all the precautionary measures, starting with the necessity of wearing a face-mask inside the center, committing to passing through the sterilization gate, measuring the temperature upon entry, receiving 25 percent of the capacity of the cinema hall, and following the permissible social-spacing between the audience seats.
