CAIRO - 26 June 2020: In a two-minute video titled Experience Egypt: Same Great Feelings, director/DOP Ahmad Al Morsy boasted the strict health measures implemented in Egypt in the light of the COVID-19 crisis.
Produced by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the video features the Egypt's most attractive touristic spots through the return of two faithful tourists after the country's decision to reboot tourism.
Director and DOP Al Morsy revealed that the video has been shot over the course of four days during the imposed curfew, and under strict precautionary measures to insure the safety of the crew.
The video was shot in collaboration of Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Chemical Warefare of the Ministry of Defense, and Ministry of Interior.
In a statement on the video, Al Morsy said, "This video aims to highlight the precautionary measures that have been taken across Egypt to encourage the worried tourists to revisit the country. This has been intensely showcased in the earliest 50 seconds of the short film from the airport to the hotel. Then the video continues to boast the robust landscapes, versatile destinations and attractive sunny spots through featuring two tourists who return after the general shutdown in the tourism sector across Egypt. The musical background is composed by Mohamed Nabulsy, and it has been carefully selected to reflect a dynamic theme featuring key oriental instruments; Oud and Qanun."
The video is used by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to promote for the reboot of the Tourism sector in Egypt during the upcoming weeks, which will be under strict health and precautionary measures across the country, in the airports, touristic spots and destinations.
The video was well-received across the social media platforms and renowned TV host Amr Adib praised it in his show Al Hekaya, describing it as "very smart and professional."
Al Morsy is a member of the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) and the Canadian Society of Cinematographers (CSC).
Throughout his career, Al Morsy won 19 national and international awards for his work, including Messages From The Sea (2010), The Party (2013), The Blue Elephant (2014), The Originals (2017), Diamond Dust (2018), and Blue Elephant: Dark Whispers, which generated more than EGP 102 million in Egyptian box-office revenues, becoming the highest grossing film in the history of Egyptian cinema.
His latest film Al Aref: Awdat Younis, by director Ahmad Alaa Aldeeb and headlined by Egyptian superstar Ahmed Ezz, will release soon. Currently, he is working on the upcoming film Kira and El Gin with Marwan Hamed, marking a fifth film collaboration.
