Nominees for State Excellence Award, State Appreciation Award announced

CAIRO – 17 June 2020: The Supreme Council of Culture will hold its 64th meeting specialized for voting for the 2019 State Award winners, chaired by Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem. The meeting will be held on June 20 at 12 p.m. at the Grand Theater in the Egyptian Opera House.

Through the next lines, ET publishes the names of the candidates for the State Excellence Awards, which were nominated by the examination committees.

The nominees for the State Award for Excellence in Arts are Ahmed Ragab Mansour Saqr, Karim Kasiba, late director Mohsen Helmy and Nathan Doos.

The nominees for the State Award for Excellence in Literature are Masoud Shuman, Ahmed Balboula, Fawzy Khedr and Mostafa Bayoumi Abdel Salam.

While the nominees for the State Award for Excellence in Social Sciences are Ibrahim Abdallah el-Mosallami, Ahmed Ali, Anwar Mogheith, Abdel Moneim el-Gemee’, Mohammed Taye’ and Mostafa Mahmoud.

Moreover, the nominees for the State Appreciation Award in Arts are Mohammed Sobhi, Somaya el-Gheneimy, late Farouk Wahba, Tarek Zabadi, Tharwat el-Bahr and Hoda Wasfy.

Also, the nominees for the State Appreciation Award in Literature are Mohammed Sulleiman, Mohammed Gibreel, Yacoub el-Sharouni, Mostafa Nasr, Abdallah el-Tatawy, Mohammed Abdallah.

The nominees for the State Appreciation Award in Social Sciences are Rabeh Rateeb, El-Sayed Abdel Khalek, Mohammed el-Khesht, Samy Abdul Aziz, Youssef Fayed, Nabil Imbabi, Mohammed Osman and Amin Shelby.

A total of 36 members of the council who are entitled to vote to choose the State Award winners attended the meeting.

The Ministry of Culture has taken all the necessary precautionary measures to counter the spread of COVID-19, including the sterilization and preventive measures, as well as taking into account social distancing with regard to organizing the seating of the council members.
