CAIRO - 15 June 2020: Egypt’s Ministry of Culture has provided many cultural services that can be attained from home, in an effort to fight the spread of COVID-19.

Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem launched in March the e-initiative “Stay At Home. Culture Is Between Your Hands”, where a large number of videos of art galleries and plastic art museums were presented to the public.

Among the galleries presented was the 41st General Gallery that opened in February. It is noteworthy that the number of artists participating in this edition reached 228 artists with a total of 286 artworks in various fields of fine art.

The exhibition was titled "An Invitation to Romance" and aimed to invite artists to present their artistic creations to enrich this important art event.

Artist Ahmed Abdel Karim, commissioner of the exhibition, said that romance is the contemporary art's legacy that we got from the ancient Egyptian civilization, as well as the Coptic and Islamic civilizations that were established on the land of Egypt.

The Ministry of Culture’s portal contains rare cultural treasure. The portal aims to reach 100 million Egyptian intellectuals, and to spread Egyptian culture and raise its stature in the world.

The portal also works to facilitate the services provided by the ministry through its offices in various governorates by allowing citizens to apply for these services electronically and obtain the necessary licenses.
