CAIRO - 17 May 2020: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el-Anani visited the various halls of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat.
This is to determine the construction developments in the project and its work plan during the current period, in preparation for its opening soon.
Anani was accompanied by Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziri, General Supervisor of the museum Ahmed el-Sherbiny, Assistant Minister for Engineering Affairs Hisham Samir and Ahmed Obaid, the assistant minister for the Minister's Office Sector Affairs.
The tour included the museum's main hall and its museum display scenario, the mummy hall and the museum’s panorama overlooking Ain Al-Syrah Lake. Anani instructed that all planned work should be completed with the highest efficiency.
It is worth noting that the Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat is one of the most significant projects carried out in cooperation with UNESCO, and is designed to become one of the largest museums of civilization in Egypt and the Middle East.
The museum presents all the aspects of the Egyptian civilization from prehistoric times to the present. The museum's various archaeological collections highlight the Egyptian material and moral heritage through showcasing traditional arts and crafts.
