FILE - Egypt's museum in the New Administrative Capital; a gem highly anticipated.
CAIRO - 14 May 2020: Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el-Anani, convened at the ministry’s headquarters in Zamalek with Mostafa Waziri, secretary general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities.
Also, Anani convened with Nevin Nizar, deputy minister for Museum Display Affairs, and Head of the Museums Sector Moemen Osman, for an update on the latest developments in the New Administrative Capital’s museum.
Nizar stated that the developments of the artifacts' transport works were discussed in preparation for the start of their exhibition in accordance with the prepared museum display scenario.
Moreover, Nizar further stated during the meeting that the installation of showcases and screens for multimedia films is underway.
Also, preparations are being made for the schematic models that will be included in the displays to portray each of the ancient Egyptian capitals, in addition to the nature of residents, architecture, religious buildings and the most famous landmark of each city.
The content of the interactive films being prepared in cooperation with the Library of Alexandria was also discussed, where an interactive panoramic movie [Culturama] is prepared on the capitals of Egypt throughout the ages, from the oldest capital Memphis, to the New Administrative Capital.
It is worth noting that the museum at the New Administrative Capital has received more than 550 artifacts.
Also, the civil protection work, the insurance system and surveillance system are being completed.
Most of the architectural work of the museum’s building has been completed. Interior lighting fixtures, statutory bases and other fabrication work have begun.
Furthermore, work is under way to implement the detailed subdivisions of artifact collections according to the High Commission for Museums Scenarios.
