CAIRO - 10 April 2020: The leading production company, Synergy, released the promo of "El-Ekhteyar" ( The Choice) series, which will be released in the upcoming Ramadan.
"El-Ekhteyar" series tackles the story of late Egyptian Colonel Ahmed el-Mansy, the commander of the Sa'ka Forces or Thunderbolt Forces who was killed during the clashes between Egyptian army forces and militants, while the army besieged groups of terrorists and foiled attacks that targeted a number of other checkpoints in the Rafah area in North Sinai on 2017.
"El-Ekhteyar" starring Amir Kharara, Dina Fouad, Ahmed Elawady, Dina Adel in addition to a notable group of guests of honors such as Eyad Nassar, Mohamed Emam and Asser Yassin.
The series is written by Baher Dewidar and directed by Peter Mimi.
Mansy was born in 1978 in Sharqia governorate. He joined the Egyptian battalion in the Nineties, immediately after his graduation from the Military College. He was assigned as the commander of the battalion in 2016.
His father as the general director of the health unit existed in Minya el-Qamh village for more than 14 years.
He stays at 10 Ramadan City with his wife and his three children. His brother-in-law told local media outlets that he has named his newborn baby after Hamza bin Abdel Motaleb, uncle of Prophet Muhammad who gave him the posthumous title Chief of the Martyrs, considering Mansy as a role model of courage and boldness.
He was transferred to North Sinai forces three years ago where he took part in several security operations against militants.
In 2016, he was awarded by the battalion during the holy month of Ramadan for his excellent performance and his military discipline.
Few months before his death, he was injured at his shoulder during a security operation in North Sinai.
He refused to be treated at a hospital, according to his friends on Facebook, after being told he should have taken 15 days rest for complete recovery. He insisted on resuming work at his brigade to defend the homeland.
