CAIRO - 18 March 2020: The Supreme Council of Culture headed by Hisham Azmy decided to combat the Coronavirus pandemic by urging people to participate in the caricature contest held by the contests department of the council headed by Magda Al-Rifae.
The contest’s first prize amounts to L.E 25,000, the second prize amounts to L.E 15,000 and the third prize amounts to L.E 10,000.
The competition comes under the patronage of Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem, and Hisham Azmy, secretary general of the Supreme Council of Culture.
The conditions of the competition come as follows:
1- The contestant must not be older than 35 years.
2- The contestant shall submit a maximum of three works dealing with the phenomenon of bullying and how to confront it.
3- Submitted works can be colored or black and white.
4- The caricature can be submitted in a maximum sized paper of A3.
5- Contestants cannot submit their work in any other competition until the results are announced. The contestant cannot submit the same work he previously submitted and won in a different contest.
6- The applicant must go to the Competitions Department at the Higher Council of Culture to fill in the competition form and provide the following: CV, photocopy of national ID card, a bank letter withan account number or send these to the address: 1 El Gabalaya St. - Opera - El Gezirah - Supreme Council of Culture.
7- The deadline for receiving submitted works is April 30, 2020.
It is worth noting that the Supreme Council of Culture announced that the deadline to apply for full-time scholarships in the fields of arts, literature and social sciences is Thursday, March 19.
The applicant must submit a CV and a statement of his/her work in their field of expertise, along with a visualization of a detailed plan for his/her full-time creative project, provided that the applicant does not submit to obtain a degree, other grant or prizes.
