CAIRO - 11 February 2020: A number of singing stars in Egypt and the Arab world are competing to present songs in the Upper Egyptian dialect.
A large number of stars began preparing for new songs in the Upper Egyptian dialect, including Mohamed Mohie, Tamer Hosny, Majd el-Qassem and Latifa.
Mohamed Mohie has finished recording a song in the Upper Egyptian dialect called "Herbet", as part of his new album to be released next summer. The song is written by Hani Ragab and composed by Madih Mohsen.
Famed singer Tamer Hosny finished recording "Eli Gawer el-Saeed". It was supposed to be included in his new album. The song is written by Saber Kamal, composed by Sherif Badr and distributed by Toma.
Majd el-Qassem has also recently recorded a song in the Upper Egyptian dialect as part of his new album. The song is written by Mahmoud Shawky, composed by Sayed Rady, and distributed by Bassem Mounir.
Additionally, Tunisian singer Latifa announced in the past days that she is preparing to launch a new song in the Upper Egyptian dialect, for the first time, after the success of her experience in popular singing with Ahmed Sheba.
Moreover, popular singer Hakim recently released the eighth song of his new album, titled “El-Ragel el-Sah” (The Right Man), on his official YouTube channel. The song was filmed as a video clip. It is written by Essam Hagag and composed by Tamer Hagag.
In 2019, Asala released the clip of her new song, "Bint Akaber", as part of her new album, where she sings in the Upper Egyptian dialect for the first time. The song is written by Mohamed Abo Neima and composed by Mahmoud el-Khayami. The song’s video clip was filmed in Fayoum.
Furthermore, Lebanese singer Marwa is preparing to shoot a new video clip of a song in the Upper Egyptian dialect, titled "Ya Booi" written by Mohamed Hashem, and composed by Magdy Abu Aouf.
Folk singer Hegazy Metkal is preparing, with the participation of Lebanese singer Marwa, to shoot a new video clip for a duo sung in the Upper Egyptian dialect, bearing the name "Bint Nass". The song is written by Beno, and composed by Salama Ali.
