CAIRO - 4 February 2020: The Spanish newspaper ABC shed light on the discovery of 16 graves with 20 coffins of various shapes and sizes in Minya Governorate. The discovery was made by a team of archaeologists led by Mostafa Waziri.
The newspaper stated that Egypt resumes its amazing archaeological discoveries, pointing out that five limestone sarcophagi, with a human shape and hieroglyphic texts engraved on them, have also been discovered.
Another five wooden coffins were found in good condition, some of which had the names of their owners engraved on them, in addition to more than 10,000 statues made of blue and green pottery.

The newspaper added that the mummified bodies of the high priests were found, as well as many pottery vessels of different shapes and sizes, most of which were used for funerary purposes.
The newspaper clarified that one of the discovered stone coffins belonged to a person called Art Haro, who had many titles. He is the son of Psamtik, who took the title of royal treasurer.

The second sarcophagus is the sarcophagus of Horus which contained pictures depicting the goddess Nut spreading her wings above and below the chest. There are inscriptions showing the titles of the deceased. This is in addition to the sarcophagus of Epee, which has three vertical lines of hieroglyphic inscriptions showing the name of the deceased.
Another discovered sarcophagus was made of well-polished limestone. It is one of the most important coffins discovered this season, given the titles inscribed on the lid of the coffin.
The sarcophagus of Waas contains hieroglyphic writings that clarify the titles of the deceased, the most important of which is the title of The Assistant.
