CAIRO – 19 June 2017: ‘’Nothing in the world prevents you from being with the one you love’’ tweeted the renowned Tunisian actress Hend Sabry on her Twitter account on June 17. Sabry revealed to her followers that this tweet represents the real message behind her popular Ramadan series ‘Halawet al Dunia’ (the sweetness of the world).
Sabry wanted to convey to her audience how love is essential in our lives.
“Halawet al Dunia” is the story of a young woman pursuing her career who is about to get married but her world comes crushing down on her as she discovers that she has leukaemia just a few weeks before her wedding.
Some expected that this simple story may not attract a large audience due to the heavy subject matter or the fact that people are already weighed down with the reality of their everyday lives and will not want to watch a drama series that brings them more agony.
Yet as soon as it was aired it achieved booming success due to the romantic love story, which takes place between Selim, played by the Tunisian heartthrob Dhaffer L’Abidine and Amina performed by Sabry.
Halawet al Dunia hosts a galaxy of stars beside L'Abidine and Sabry such as Hani Adel, Anoushka, Mostafa Fahmy, Hanan Motawe’a and Ragaa al-Gedawy among others.
