CAIRO – 13 January 2019: The General Egyptian Book Authority announced that the 51st edition of Cairo International Book Fair, scheduled to kick off on Jan. 22, will host a notable group of Egyptian and Arab stars.

The guests of the CIBF cinema hall include Yousra, Mohamed Farag, Eyad Nassar, Lebleba, Asser Yassin, Mostafa Shabaan, and scriptwriter Abdel Rehim Kamal.

The cinema hall will screen a number of short movies, animation movies, documentaries and feature films such as "El Kenz", "El-Feel el-Azr’aa" ( The Blue Elephant), "The Knight and The Princess", among others.

The General Book Authority announced the number of publishing houses taking part in the 51st Cairo International Book Fair, which is set to run from Jan. 22 to Feb. 4.

Senegal will be the guest of honor of the book fair, while Gamal Hemdan will be the book fair’s main personality. The fair will be held under the slogan “Egypt ... Africa: A Culture of Diversity”.

- The number of pavilions at the fair is 808, with an increase of 86 pavilions.

- The number of publishers, as well as Egyptian and Foreign entities participating are 900, with an increase of 153 publishers and entities compared to the fair’s 50th edition.

- The number of Egyptian publishers is 398.

- The number of Egyptian publishers of children's books is 75.

- The number of Egyptian publishers of Islamic heritage books is 121.

- The number of participating Azbakeya wall libraries is 41.

- The number of publishers of audio and electronic books is 7.

- The number of participating Arab publishing houses is 255.

Thus, the total number is 900 publishing houses, 99 agencies, 925 activities, the number of participants in the activities is 3502 participants and 38 participating countries.
