CAIRO - 31 December 2019: The Egyptian Opera House -headed by Magdy Saber- welcomes the New Year with five concerts that take place in various theaters in Cairo, Alexandria and Damanhur, all of which start at 8 p.m.
The Grand Theater will host a concert performed by the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, led by Maestro Ahmed Al-Saidi, in participation with French soprano Maria Pierre with Coral Acapella, led by Maya Gaviria. This concert will be presented again on Jan. 1 at Sayed Darwish Theater in Alexandria Opera.
On Gomhoreya Theater, Glass Onion band will present a selection of The Beatles, who appeared during the 1960s and early 1970s. The singer Rehab Omar and her band will also present a selection of works of the golden era on the stage of the Arab Music Institute.
On Sayed Darwish Theatre in Alexandria Opera House, Ala Mar el-Agyal band that consists of a group of promising young stars, including Yasser Saeed, Mohamed Metwally, and Mohamed el-Khouly will present a number of masterpieces of the Arab music.
On the Damanhur Opera Theater, singer Ahmed Nasser and his band will present a group of heritage and contemporary songs.
The president of the Opera stressed that New Year's Eve concerts are witnessing a huge turnout from Egyptian, Arab and foreign art enthusiasts who are always keen to celebrate this occasion in the Opera.
