Anani during the inspecting tour - ET
CAIRO - 21 November 2019: Minister of Antiquities Khaled el-Anani inspected the developments in Kafr el-Sheikh Museum, which is scheduled to open in the first half of 2020.
The inspecting tour was attended by Governor of Kafr el-Sheikh Ismail Abdel Hamid Taha, MP’s of the governorate, Assistant Minister of Antiquities for Investment and Financial Resources Development Iman Zeidan, Assistant Minister of Antiquities for Finance and Financial Resources Hany Mamdouh, Head of the Projects Sector Waad Abul Ela, Head of the Museums' Sector Momen Othman and Deputy Minister of Antiquities of the Museums' Display Nevin Nizar.
During the tour, the minister stressed the necessity of making some changes to the main entrance, the parking area and the information and ticketing area of the museum. This is in addition to amending the visit route of the museum so that the visitor can enjoy the exhibits and the services available in the museum, which include a library, a school for museum education, bazaars and cafeterias.
Anani asserted the need to establish easy-access corridors for visitors with special needs, and allocate an area for environmental, heritage and traditional crafts for the people of Kafr el-Sheikh. The minister ordered the construction of a Roman theater, with the aim of holding cultural and artistic performances for the people of the province in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture.
