CAIRO - 3 November 2019: Four concerts will be held on Nov. 3 in various locations as part of the 28th edition of the Arabic Music Festival. The concerts will all be held at 8 p.m.
The Grand Theater will host a concert for popular Lebanese singer Marwan Khoury accompanied with his band. Mai Farouk and Jordanian guitarist Wahid Mamdouh will also perform on the Grand Theater right before Khoury. On the stage of the Arabic Music Institute, the Omani Band for Music and Folklore will present distinguished pieces of Arab heritage music.
The events extend to Sayed Darwish Theater in Alexandria Opera House, where Moroccan artist Fouad Zebadi will perform accompanied by El-Hefny Ensemble led by Maestro Hisham Nabawy. The same stage will also witness a performance by Lebanese violinist Jihad Akl and singer Hasna. Moreover, Nadia Mostafa will perform on Damanhour Opera Theater accompanied by the Arabic Music Heritage Ensemble led by Maestro Farouk el-Bably. Singers Hanan Essam, Angham Mustafa, Ahmed Ibrahim, Ahmed Sabry and Mohy Salah will also perform on the same stage before Mostafa’s performance.
The Research Conference will start at 10 a.m. on the Small Theater. The conference will tackle the impact of the creativity of women in Arabic music on the community, which will be discussed in the presence of Youssef Tannous (Lebanon), Mohammad al-Ghawanmeh (Jordan), Mohammed Adam Suleiman Abu al-Bishr (Sudan), Michel al-Shamali (Lebanon), Fatima al-Zaher Abbas (Iraq) and Najat Zaher Habib al-Zaid (Kuwait). The debate will resume at a second session beginning at 12: 30 p.m. in the presence of Mohamed Shabana (Egypt), Ahmed al-Wasel (Saudi Arabia), Al-Fateh Hussein Ahmed (Sudan), Adnan Khalaf Sahi (Iraq) and Moatasem Adila (Palestine).
