CIFF press conference to take place on Nov. 4

CAIRO - 27 October 2019: Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) will organize a press conference on November 4 at Semiramis Intercontinental Hotel's Cleopatra Hall at 12 p.m. to announce the details pertaining to the festival's 41st edition.

Running from November 20-29, this edition will bear the name of late critic Youssef Cherif Rizkalla, CIFF’s artistic director, and will be headed by producer Mohamed Hefzy.

The press conference will announce the films selected at the festival’s various sections as well as information on the workshops and panels set to be held.

CIFF will be screening over 150 films, 30 of which will be world or international premieres. The second Cairo Industry Days (November 21-26) will offer professional partnerships and networking opportunities in addition to workshops, seminars and round tables.

Also, Cairo Film Connection (CFC) will grant awards to projects in development and post production phases.

CIFF had announced earlier it would be opening with Martin Scorcese’s “The Irishman”, starring Robert De Niro and Al Paccino, in its Middle East and North Africa premiere. It had also announced granting the Faten Hamama Honorary Award to American-British legend Terry Gilliam and Egyptian director Sherif Arafa.
