Egypt to participate in Novi Sad’s celebrations

CAIRO - 23 October 2019: Mayor of Novi Sad city of Vojvodina province praised the strong Egyptian-Serbian relations and the remarkable presence of Egyptian arts and culture in Serbia over the past 2 years.

During his meeting with Egyptian Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem at Serbia International Book Fair, in the presence of Egypt's Ambassador to Serbia Amr el-Goueili, the mayor explained that the fair is a good opportunity for cultural exchange, expressing his desire to showcase Egypt's arts in the celebrations of the selection of Novi Sad as the capital of European culture in 2021.

The mayor also highlighted the Serbian president's interest in strengthening and developing relations with Egypt. It is worth mentioning that Egypt is the guest of honor of the 2019 edition of Serbia International Book Fair.

For her part, Abdel Dayem encouraged the Egyptian participation in the celebrations, and discussed a project of artistic and cultural twinning to embody the strength of bilateral relations and act as a bridge between the cultures of the two nations.
