Legendary singer Fawzi - ET
CAIRO - 23 October 2019: Farid al-Atrash Fan Club headed by Adel el-Sayed is set to commemorate legendary musician Mohamed Fawzy on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at Gendia Mall in Faisal.
In the presence of Fawzi’s granddaughter Mayada el-Haw, the ceremony will begin with the screening of a film that sheds light on the rich career of the late musician and singer. The head of Farid al-Atrash Fan Club will then speak in depth about the special friendship that united Fawzi and Atrash.
The commemoration program also includes a variety of musical masterpieces sung by Fawzi and other legendary Egyptian musicians that will be performed by a selection of singers. Also, a number of poets will recite their latest poems.
Legendary late singer and musician Mohamed Fawzi passed away at the age of 48. He was born on Aug. 24, 1918 and passed away on Oct. 20, 1966 after a vicious battle with disease.
The late musician presented 36 films during the Golden Era of the Egyptian cinema, in addition to a wide number of songs that are engraved in the hearts of Egyptians. Fawzi was the first to ever present a song dedicated to children with “Mama Zamanha Gaya” (Mom is almost here).
