CAIRO - 3 October 2019: The Egyptian Opera House, headed by Magdy Saber, will hold nine cultural and artistic events to commemorate the victory of October 1973.

The events include six concerts for Arab music ensembles in Cairo, Alexandria and Damanhur, all starting at 8 p.m.

On Sunday, October 6, a selection of the most famous national compositions will be performed. The celebrations will be held at the Grand Theater, Gomhoria Theater, Arab Music Institute Theater, Sayed Darwish Theater in Alexandria and Damanhur Opera House.

Additionally, a concert for children classes and the talent development center's ballet classes will be held at the Open Theater.

Also, the film “El-Mamar” will screen on Monday, October 7 at the Grand Theater at 7 p.m., followed by a discussion with the filmmakers.

In cooperation with the Supreme Council of Culture, a symposium will be held on Friday, October 18th at the Damanhur Opera Theater entitled "Makers of October Victories".

Furthermore, a seminar entitled "Egypt’s Crossing 73" will be held on Saturday, October 26 at Sayed Darwish Theater in Alexandria in the presence of several intellectuals and public figures.

For her part, Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem said that the glorious October War remains a defining moment in Egypt's modern history, where it announced the will and determination of the Egyptian people.

Abdel Dayem further referred to the heroic acts of the martyrs that succeeded in retrieving a precious part of the homeland.

The minister added that this event is an inspiring occasion for young generations and that it represents an incentive to further build the country and make more glorifying achievements in various fields.
