Greater Cairo Library to celebrate Islamic Art Day on Sept. 18

CAIRO - 15 September 2019: Greater Cairo Public Library, affiliated with the Cultural Production Affairs Sector, is organizing a cultural day to celebrate the International Day of Islamic Art on Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. at the library’s headquarters in Zamalek.

The program of the ceremony includes a seminar to discuss the book "Heritage of Mohammed Abdul Aziz Marzouk", in which professor of Islamic and Coptic Antiquities at Mansoura University Mohamed Abdel Latif will speak, in addition to Dr. Heba Abdel Aziz Marzouk and President of the Heritage and Traditional Arts Association Mohamed Hossam el-Din Ismail.

It is worth mentioning that Heba Marzouk presented her grandfather's collections to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina for digitization. The seminar will be moderated by Director General of the Library Yasser Othman. The celebration also includes an exhibition featuring a collection of Islamic paintings.
