CIFCE Festival's press conference to be held Sept. 4

CAIRO - 2 September 2019: Cairo International Festival for Contemporary and Experimental Theater, headed by Sameh Mahran, will hold a press conference to announce the details of the 26th edition.

The press conference will be held on September 4 at the Great Hall of the Supreme Council of Culture at 5 p.m.

The Cairo International Festival for Contemporary and Experimental Theater will run from September 10 to 19. In the 26th edition, about 179 performances from 68 countries will be presented.India participated with eight shows, while Greece and Brazil participated with seven performances each.

The festival is aimed at discussing African theatrical issues through a two-day intellectual seminar that will host major African dramatists, critics and researchers.

The seminar will be accompanied by a series of presentations; a tota lof 13 African non-Arab countries will participate with 18 presentations, five of which will be selected to accompany the seminar.

The Arab participation reached 87 shows representing 16 countries. Tunisia is participating in 15 theatrical performances. That is in addition to two joint productions between an Arab and a foreign country.

The management unveiled the logo of the 26th edition, which was designed by Mustafa Awad, who used hot colors in the poster to grab the attention.
