MEDFEST Egypt to launch in Upper Egypt in September

CAIRO - 1 September 2019: The Forum MEDFEST - Egypt begins with screenings and seminars in the governorates of Upper Egypt to include three provinces, namely, Assiut, Sohag and Luxor.

The forum comes with the support of the United Nations Fund for Health and Population on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Housing Conference and with the support of the German Foundation for International Cooperation.

The events will be held in Assiut on September 4 and Sohag on September 6 and concludes in Luxor Governorate on September 8.

The audience is allowed to attend free of charge, where 10 short films from Egypt, America, France, Ireland and the UAE will be screened. The films will be divided into two groups, each group of films followed by a discussion session attended by a number of filmmakers, doctors, and psychotherapists.

MEDFEST Egypt aims to create a space of communication between doctors and filmmakers through a selection of short films combined with one medical theme that changes annually.

MEDFEST is a medically themed educational, short film forum that launched its first edition in January, 2017. The objective of MEDFEST is to explore common grounds between medicine and film in both scientific and artistic approaches supporting the well-being of human beings.
