Theatre house bidding for plays filming

CAIRO – 11 June 2017: The Artistic Theatre House issued a bidding for the filming of plays produced by the House featuring renowned stars, in order to be screened later on private satellite channels.

Director Ismail Mokhtar the Artistic Theatre House head is currently trying to reboot this protocol and offer a bid for private satellite channels in order to choose which channel is going to film the plays and sign a contract with it.

The Egyptian television had signed a protocol with the former head of the Theatre house to air the plays, but it has not yet been activated. Most of the plays performed by mega stars like Yehia el-Fakharany’s play ‘’Leila Men Alf Leila w Leila (A Night from One Thousand and One Nights) and the play ‘’Ana El Raees’’ (I am the president) by Sameh Hussein and many other plays were unfortunately not filmed. This is a great loss for the Egyptian theatre field, which must have an archive of all its important plays.
