Naguib Mahfouz caricature exhibition to be launched Aug. 4

CAIRO - 31 July 2019: In celebration of the inauguration of Nobel winning writer Naguib Mahfouz’s Museum, the Cultural Development Fund Sector, in cooperation with the Egyptian Cartoon Society, is organizing a caricature exhibition.

The exhibition will be entitled "Naguib Mahfouz - World Paintings ". The caricature exhibition will be launched on August 4 at 7 p.m. in the Museum of the world-famous writer in Tekeyet Abul Dahab next to Al-Azhar Mosque.

The exhibition includes personal portraits of Mahfouz painted by 40 artists from different countries including: Cuba, South Africa, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, China, Japan, Brazil, Russia, Morocco, and Spain, in addition to the paintings of Egyptian artists.

It should be noted that these works were presented at the sixth session of the International Caricature Forum, which was established by the Egyptian Cartoon Society at Prince Taz Palace, in cooperation with the Fund Sector.

Following the opening, musical compositions of the most famous soundtracks of the cinematic and television works of the legendary Mahfouz will be presented.
