CAIRO - 29 July 2019: Cinema Palace will screen the film “Damascus Aleppo” by Bassel al-Khatib on July 28, within the program of the Mediterranean Cinema Club, followed by a seminar run by critic Amir Abaza.
The film revolves around Issa Abdullah, a former host and an introvert. Abdullah lives in isolation from events happening in Damascus, while his daughter is under siege in Aleppo, until the siege is broken and Aleppo is free. He visits his daughter and monitors through this journey the devastating impact of the war on people.
The film stars Duraid Lahham, Kenda Hanna, Shakran Murtaja, Nizli al Rawas, Salma al-Masri and Tarik Abdo. It is written by Talid el khatib and directed by Basel el Khatib. The film first screened in 2018.
