FILE - Sehr el ahlam play
CAIRO - 22 July 2019: Head of the Art House for Folklore and Performing Arts Adel Abdo launched the theatrical play “Sehr el ahlam” (Magic of Dreams) on July 21 on the Balloon Theater.
The show was produced by the National Folk Music Ensemble, headed by Osama Zaghloul, and came under the supervision of the Cultural Production Affairs Sector headed by director Khaled Galal.
The play revolves around Western customs and traditions that have infiltrated the Egyptian society, but do not match the original customs and traditions that once distinguished the local society, shedding light on the impact of such traditions on local arts in particular and on various fields in general.
The opening was attended by a group of artists including Magdy Sobhi, Sameh Yousry, singer Helmy Abdel Baki and Moroccan actor Said Naciri, in addition to a number of leaders, artists and directors affiliated with the Art House.
“Sehr el Ahlam” stars Magdy Fekry, Inas Mekki, Niveen Rifaat, Abdel Aati Saleh, Reda Ramzy, and Mohamed Antar. The play is directed by Sami el Masry and written by Hossam Atta.
