The 18th International Summer Festival to kick off at Bibliotheca Alexandrina on July.26

CAIRO – 6 July 2019: The 18th edition of the International Summer Festival to kick off at Bibliotheca Alexandrina on July.26 and will end in August 31.

The annual festival usually witnesses the attendance of thousands of people. Egyptian poet Amr Hassan will recite a number of his poems in the opening ceremony.

On July 28 famed marimba player, Nesma Abdel Aziz, will perform at the festival.

Abdel Aziz is considered one of the contemporary music icons, as she is the first marimba player in Egypt. She participated in numerous concerts in Cairo Opera House such as Omar Khairat concerts.

Having her debut in 2001, Abdel Aziz founded her ensemble and released music pieces like "Marimba Fusion," and "Tico, Tico".

Abdel Aziz toured the world with her ensemble under the theme of "Spreading Happiness" and achieved huge international success.

Abdel Aziz has dazzled audiences worldwide with her combination of classical and contemporary music, bringing together a unique blend of western and Arab instruments to create a whole new genre.

Also on July 28 Egyptian Comedian Ahmed Amin will display his theatrical show “Amin and Partners.”

The live show was staged twice a week, at MUST Opera House starting January 31, and was screened on DMC.

A workshop of writers spent about three months to create a sketch-based theater that brings back Amin’s satirical social observations to the screens, in a newly innovated form that fulfills his vision and passion for Egyptian theater.

The theatrical show featured Amin along with newly introduced talents, as well as talents who were previously introduced in Amin's famous TV program 'Al Plateau'.
Amin aims at creating a talent hub through this project, that gives the space to young writers and actors.

Produced by Mohamed Gebeily and directed by Alaa Ismail, the show will be brought by the same crew of Al Plateau.

Amin’s first gig was “30 sanya.” videos on YouTube The low-production content was relate-able to his loyal fan base, then Etisalat sponsored his following show “El Break”.

Amin’s first TV show “Al Plateau” became one of the most popular local comedy shows, with 131,330,187 views.

In Ramadan 2017, Amin participated with the famed comedian Akram Hosny in the popular comic series “Al Wassiya” ( The Legacy) . The series achieved a huge success.
