Eid El-Fitr movies achieve total revenues of LE 156 million

CAIRO – 30June 2019: Eid El-Fitr witnessed a fierce competition between five movies, each of which brings together a notable cast of stars. The five movies achieved total revenues of LE 156 million in 25 days.

1- "Casablanca"



Starring mega star Amir Karara, "Casablanca" topped EidEl-Fitr season films, achieving revenues of up to LE 62,074,407.

“Casablanca” achieved the highest daily income in the history of Egyptian cinema, achieving LE 6,721,308 and surpassing the rest of the competing films by far; in addition to the records achieved on the level of Arab cinema revenues, as the film is being screened in Arab and Gulf theaters.

It is noteworthy that "Casablanca" is starring a large group of stars led by Amir Karara, Ghada Adel, EyadNassar, Amr Abdul Jalil, Lebleba, Mahmoud el-Bezzawi and Ahmed Dash. The film is written by HishamHilal, and the joint production of Talent Media, Synergy Films and Tahir Media Production. It is directed by Peter Mimi and written by HishamHilal.

The action movie revolves around Omar el-Mor (Amir Karara) and hisadventure in Casablanca. "Casablanca"was shot across different cities such as Marrakech, Casablanca, Safaga and Alexandria.

The plot tackles the life of some Alexandrian men, who despite being pirates, have a touch of humanity. Mor wants to free his kidnapped brother, and together they form a totally different and new composition. The movie also has a light comedy line.

"Casablanca" was executed with the latest cinematic techniques and its promo amassed 1 million views within three hours of its release, a record in the history of Egyptian cinema.

2- "El-Mammar" (The Passage)



The second placegoes to "El-Mamar" movie which achieved LE 49,444,264. The film revolves around the role of the heroic Egyptian Commandos during the War of Attrition, headed by the leader of Group 39 martyr Ibrahim al-Rifai.

The massive production discusses the time period from the 1967 war to the early days of the War of Attrition.

"El-Mammar", directed by SherifArafa and written by Arafa and Amir Teima, stars Ahmed Ezz, Amir Karara, HendSabry, Ahmed Rizk, AsmaAbulYazid, EyadNassar, SherifMounir, Mohamed Farag, Ahmed Falawkas and InaamSalousa, among others.

Veteran musician Omar Khairat composed the movie’s soundtrack, which pays tribute to one of the most heroic battles ever fought by Egyptian soldiers.

"Sabaa El-Boromba" (The Brave)



The comedy movie claimed the third rank withLE 25,717,707. In"Sabaa El-Boromba", a young police officer tries tomake a girl fall in love with him.

The movie is starringRamezGalal, BayoumiFouad, Mohamed Tharwat, Mohamed Abdelrahman, GamilaAwad. The movie is directed by Mahmoud Karim.

"Hamlet Pharaon" (The Pharaoh’s Campaign)



The fourth rank went to "Hamlet Pharaon" withLE 14,977,027in revenues.
Renowned American boxer Mike Tyson participates in the Egyptian action movie “Hamlet Pharon” (The Pharaoh’s Campaign) alongside Egyptian star AmrSaad.

The movie is about a young Egyptian man named Yehia (AmrSaad) who is the leader of one of the biggest assassination gangs. A turn of events forces Yehia to travel to Syria to rescue the girl he loves.

Starring alongside the international greats is a notable cast of actors including Ruby, Mahmoud Abdel Moghny, Hamdy el-Marghany, Ramez Amir and Mohamed Lotfy, among others. The film is written by Karim Hassan Beshir and directed by Raouf Abdel Aziz.

"MahadeshShaf Mohamed Hussein?" (Has Anyone Seen Mohamed Hussein?)



The last rank was claimed by "MahadeshShaf Mohamed Hussein?" whichachievedLE 4,06,.625.

The events of the film revolve around a driver (Mohamed Saad) who works at a big hotel and becomes involved with the mafia.

When a famous painter (Samir Sabri), who lives in France and has many art exhibitions displaying his paintings in Paris, is found dead, the driver is accused of his murder.

Arrested for questioning because he was the only one seen at the crime scene right before the murder, the driver finds himself running from the mafia who are hot on his heels. Meanwhile, the search for the real killer begins.

The film is written by Sherif Adel, directed by Mohamed Ali and starring InaamSalousa, Feryal Yusuf, Mohamed Tharwat, Samir Sabri and Mai Selim.
