CAIRO – 9 June 2019: Wust El-Balad will perform at Cairo Opera House on June 15 as part of the annual Summer festival.

The band will perform a selection of songs from their latest album “Bantalony el-Jeans” (My jeans) that was released early 2018 after a three year hiatus since their previous album “karakib” (scribbles).

Wust El-Balad is an Egyptian Soft rock band, founded in Cairo in 1999. The band released four albums; the self-titled "Wust El-Balad" in 2007, “Rubabekya” (old items) in 2011, "Karakib"(scribbles) in 2014, and "Bantalony el-Jeans" (my jeans) in 2018.
The band is creating soft rock tunes, blending traditional Arabic sounds with modern and western tunes.

Wust El Balad consists of Adham al-Saeed, Hany Adel, Ahmed Omran, Ahmed Omar, Asaad Nessim, Ehab Abdel Hameed (Bob) and Mohammed Gamal al-Din (Mizo).

Wust El Balad cooperated with the famous Sharmoofers on April 21, 2017 in a concert in Zamalek, which was attended by thousands of their fans and performed as part of the 15th International Summer Festival.

Cairo Opera House Summer festival will kick off June 12 to 20. The festival program includes a series of artistic performances held at 8 p.m.

The shows feature a diverse content directed to young people of all ages, where distinct parties are held for a number of bands and singing stars, including; Ali el-Haggar, Tamer Ashour, Wust el-Balad, Taksir Sharqi, Hisham Kharma, Carmen Suleiman, Mohamed el-Sharnoubi and Nesma Mahgoub.

Head of the Egyptian Opera House Magdy Saber confirmed that a special program has been prepared for the summer festival which is set to take place in Cairo, Alexandria and Damanhur. The festival’s program holds of numerous artistic surprises.

Also, the 28th edition of the Salaheddin International Music and Singing Festival is being finalized. The festival will witness the participation of a number of Egyptian, Arab and international singing teams.
