Kurdahi succeeds in rediscovering Egypt’s national heritage

CAIRO - 8 May 2019: Iconic TV presenter George Kurdahi is known to convert simple ideas into great programs that inform his viewers about their national culture and heritage.

The prominent TV host offers his audience in Ramadan a rich program entitled “A Name from Egypt” broadcast on Al-Hayat and ON E.

The program aims to present information about important personalities that carved their names in the Egyptian history through the important roles they played in their respective fields.

In the first episode, Kurdahi said that the character of the day was born in Alexandria in 1932 to a father who works as a wood dealer. The father wanted his child to pursue his career but the child had other dreams and artistic talents that were evident on the stage of his primary school Victoria College.

The child’s colleague and friend was the legendary late director Youssef Chahine, who chose him to star alongside legendary Faten Hamama in the film "Conflict in the Valley" in 1954.
