CAIRO –7 June 2017: The People’s Movement Tunisian opposition party demanded on Tuesday the authorities to ban the screening of "Wonder Woman" film featuring Israeli actress Gal Gadot, who is famous with her anti-Palestinian stances.

The party sent a letter to Tunisian Culture Minister Mohamed Zine El-Abidine on Wednesday demanding the film suspension. The Movement said in the letter that Gal Gadot worked in the recent years as a soldier in the Zionist occupation army and participated in the recent aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip. She even strongly defended the crimes committed during this aggression and promoted it.

The Movement said that the screening of the film represent an unjustified exercise of normalization and called for halting the movie as many Arab countries did. Also, it stated on Tuesday that its lawyers will file an urgent lawsuit to stop the screening of the film "Wonder Woman" after the presence of a Zionist actress in Tunisian cinemas on Wednesday.

‘’Wonder Woman’’ has generated high revenues since its release in June 2, in the United States. The film’s plot revolves around Princess Diana who discovers her full powers when she turns out to be Wonder Woman and leaves her home to fight a war.

Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot and Chris Pine, and is written by Allan Heinberg and directed by Patty Jenkins.
