Elham Shahin, Bushra attend Gabes Film Festival's opening ceremony

CAIRO - 15 April 2019: A number of Arab filmmakers attended the opening of Gabes Film Festival's first edition in Tunisia.

The opening was attended by Egyptian star Elham Shahin, actress Bushra along with the makers of the Egyptian film "Lail Khargy" (External night) including actress Mona Hala, director Hala Lofty and Tunisian producer Dura Bouchoucha who was recently honored at the Luxor African Film Festival in Egypt.The festival was held under the slogan "Come and See" and witnessed a remarkable artistic presence by Tunisian filmmakers and a great interest from the fans of Gabes.

The festival includes 50 films distributed among official competitions and parallel shows, including films presented for the first time in Tunisia and made especially for children and others supporting young/rising filmmakers.It is worth noting that “Lail Khargy” screened during the opening ceremony of Gabes Film Festival.Since its inception, the festival has announced the celebration of independent cinema and independent artistic experiences. Director of Tunisian photography Youssef bin Youssef was honored in the opening ceremony.
