CAIRO - 10 April 2019: The Voice of Egypt Orchestra, led by Maestro Ahmed Atef, will present a concert entitled "Hollywood in Cairo" on Thursday, April 11 at 8 p.m. in Cairo Opera House's Grand Theater. The concert is directed by Hazem Tayel.
The concert's program includes a selection of soundtracks of the most popular and significant Oscar winning American films, including Fred Newman’s “20th Century”, “Superman”, “Indiana Jones”, “Harry Potter”, among others.
The Voice of Egypt Orchestra was founded by violinist and music composer Ahmed Atef to shed light on soundtracks that suit the taste of the Egyptian audience. It combines the classical orchestra, with oriental and western musical instruments.
Ahmed Atef began his musical studies at the age of 14 at the Higher Institute of Arabic Music and graduated in 1998 with excellence. He received his PhD in Arts in 2011.
Atef participated with the Akhenaten Chamber Orchestra and the Cairo Philharmonic Orchestra at the Citadel Festival in 1995, among numerous other concerts across the country.
