Karara at Murex D’or- Press photo
CAIRO – 7 April 2019: Egyptian stars Amir Karara and Nelly Karim received the best actor and best actress awards at the Murex D’or ceremony that took place on Saturday, April 6 in Lebanon.
Murex D’or granted Karim the best actress award for her role in "Ektefaa" (Disappearance), while Karara received the best actor award for his role in the successful series "Kalabsh" (Handcuffs).
Prominent Egyptian singer Tamer Hosny received the Murex D’or award for best male Arab singer in 2018.
Hosny's latest song “Naseny Laih” amassed almost 30 million views on his official YouTube channel in less than two weeks.
He was chosen the best Arab singer because his most recent album "Aish Beshouak"; has achieved great success.
Famed Egyptian singer Angham received the Murex D’or award for best female Arab singer in 2018.
Born on December 18, 1974 in Alexandria to a Russian mother and an Egyptian father, Karim starred in about 17 Egyptian films and nine TV series.
She received a number of prestigious awards, including Best Actress award at Cairo International Film Festival for her role in "Enta omry" (You are My Life), a Special Award from Cairo National Festival for Egyptian Cinema for her role in "Wahed-Sefr" (One-Zero), and the Best Actress award at the Arab Film Festival for her role in 678 movie, among others.
