CAIRO - 28 March 2019: Star Ashraf Abdel Baki launched the first performance of his new theatrical play on March 27. The play is entitled "All Wrong - Crime in Maadi" and is presented on Al-Nasr Theater in Minya Governorate.
Abdel Baqi and his new theatrical group started the first day of the show raising the "full house" banner; the last performance in Minya will take place on March 30. This is Abdel Baqi's first visit to Upper Egypt with his new theatrical group. Abdel Baqi and his team will then perform in Assiut Governorate from April 3 - 5.
"The Play that Goes Wrong" is originally an English comedic novel which Baqi acquired the legal rights to perform in Egypt in a customized manner to suit the local attire. The play also staged in numerous countries such as Germany, Argentina and London. "The Play that Goes Wrong" is written by Henry Lewis, Henry Shields and Jonathan Sayer.
The Egyptian version of the play is starring numerous young talents directed and trained by the veteran comedian Abdel Baqi.
"The Play That Goes Wrong" is a play by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields of Mischief Theatre Company. It won Best New Comedy at the 2015 Laurence Olivier Awards.
Mischief Theatre Company has also written "Peter Pan Goes Wrong" which opened at London's Apollo Theatre in December 2015 and starred the original cast from "The Play That Goes Wrong".
Two television specials, an adaptation of "Peter Pan Goes Wrong" and a sequel titled "A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong", aired on BBC One in December 2016 and 2017.
