Afaq kicks off Mar. 27 to celebrate International Theater Day

CAIRO – 28 March 2019: Teatro Afaq for Arts and Culture, affiliated to “Fe Eshk Misr” (Adoring Egypt) institution, kicked off on Wednesday to celebrate World Theater Day.

The opening day started by the play “Safaroot Aragouz” presented by Studio Team on the Child's Theater; the play recounts the adventures of Pinocchio.

Pinocchio is a kid who always lies to grasp people’s attention. He meets with a witch who advices him to quit lying or every time he lies, his nose gets bigger. The story aims to instill honesty, bravery and kindness in children.

The play is written and directed by Mamdouh Saleh, while kids Samy Youssif, Hamdy el-Sayad, Amira Ali, and Mohammed Mamdouh share the leading roles.

“Safaroot Aragouz” was followed by a show presented by Mifix Team and entitled “Kargin”. The play contributes in the long performances competition, is directed by Ghada Safwat and is written by Ahmed Hassan.

"Kargin" stars Ali Ayman and Mohamed Mansour with the participation of Ahmed Saber, Walaa Hassan, Amir Zakaria, and Abdel Rahman Mohamed.
