CAIRO – 27 March 2019: The Egyptian Actors’ Syndicate has revoked the membership of actors Khaled Abou Elnaga and Amr Waked.
The decision was taken due to both actors’ offensive remarks pertaining to Egypt and the reflection of a false picture about the country, aiming to harm the interests of the Egyptian state.
A statement by the syndicate said, “What both actors did is considered a treason to Egypt and Egyptians, as they sought the help of outside forces against the will of Egyptians, with an aim to subdue Egypt’s sovereign decisions to serve the agenda of conspirators who seek to break our country’s security and stability."
The syndicate further added that it will not accept any traitors among its members, warning other members from following their footsteps or adopting such devious agendas that aim at harming Egypt and its youths who pay an expensive price to achieve security, development and peace.
Egyptian actors Khaled Abol Naga and Amr Waked would have liked to be in Cairo, not Washington, speaking about human rights in Egypt.
In Washington, Naga and Waked discussed issues related to the political situation in Egypt, asking the US to interfere in the Egyptian internal affairs!
This raises questions about whether if Egyptians are that weak to ask for US help? Or the two controversial actors want to apply a certain conspiracy agenda here in Egypt?
On Monday, March 25 Waked and Naga attended a discussion panel in Washington on the human rights situation in Egypt, asking for international solidarity with Egyptians to save them from “the military rule”, which is far from the truth and reality!!! Perhaps they did not know it is a civil rule we have in Egypt.
The panel capped a day of activism by Naga, Waked and dozens of other activists who met with members of the US Congress to stand against proposed constitutional amendments in Egypt. What does the Congress have to do with our constitution? Why both actors want the Congress to interfere in a purely Egyptian matter like the constitution?
Waked and Naga illegal actions provoked condemnation of the Egyptian people who without exaggeration view the two actors as two traitors who want to defame Egypt’s reputation and asking US to interfere in its internal policy.
