CAIRO - 25 March 2019: American actor and basketball player John Salley arrived in Cairo for a three-day visit. The American star will give a speech at the Creativity Industry Forum held from March 26-27.
The American star's visit to Cairo includes a tour at the pyramids of Giza, Saqqara, a Nile cruise and visits to the Egyptian Museum and the Citadel.
John Thomas Salley is an American retired professional basketball player, actor and talk show host. He was the first player in NBA history to play on three championship-winning franchises, as well as the first player (and only one of two, the other being Tim Duncan) in the NBA to win a championship in three decades.
After being drafted in the first round out of Georgia Tech in 1986, the 6'11 (2.11 m) Salley played both power forward and center for the Detroit Pistons, Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls, Panathinaikos and Los Angeles Lakers, Celtics and the Cleveland cavaliers. He also played for every team in the NBA holding that record.
Salley was a long-time host of the former Fox Sports Net show The Best Damn Sports Show Period. He is a vegan activist, chef, and wellness entrepreneur.
