CAIRO - 19 March 2019: The first Tuwaiq International Sculpture Symposium for direct sculptures on marble rocks kicked off in KSA.
The symposium is the first festival of its kind to be hosted in the Kingdom and is one of the most significant cultural and artistic events organized by the General Authority of the Diplomatic District in Riyadh.
The festival is held under the auspices of Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of the Diplomatic District Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan.
The authority said in a statement that the importance of this event lies in the number and diversity of the participants. A total of 23 artists are set to participate, including 20 artists from around the world and three from Saudi Arabia.
The authority further stressed that holding such events is of great importance and artistic value, given the significance of the participating artists and their status in the countries they represent. The event will contribute to enhancing the expertise and sustainability of this artistic field.
It is worth mentioning that the General Authority of the Diplomatic District in KSA aims at developing the embassy district and providing its needs of public facilities and services in the construction, economic, social, cultural, historical and environmental fields.
