FILE - South Korean ambassador with his wife during the tours
CAIRO - 7 March 2019: The South Korean ambassador to Egypt and his wife visited the Grand Egyptian Museum in El-Remaya square; they were received by the museum's specialized archaeologists who took them on a tour inside the restoration center and the museum's construction site.
The tour included a visit to the statue of King Ramses II at the great lobby, in addition to the restoration labs that include the wood restoration plant, where there are belongings of the Golden King Tutankhamen; as well as the heavy parts restoration section, which includes the huge pieces that will be displayed on the great staircase.
The South Korean ambassador expressed his great admiration of this huge project and the remarkable skills of the designers and restoration specialists who use the latest technology and equipment to restore the precious artifacts.
