CAIRO – 28 January 2019: Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Mostafa el-Feky signed a protocol between Egypt and France, represented by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the French National Scientific Center and the Ministry of Europe.

"We are happy to sign this agreement during my second visit to Egypt. I have kept a few pictures of Tahrir Square during the Egyptian revolution in June,” the president of the French National Center for Scientific Research stated.

"The center is specialized in scientific research and includes 1000 researchers. We have a policy of employing 30 percent of foreigners and we have a total of 220 laboratories. Egypt has three research labs. We also established a partnership with the Supreme Council of Antiquities in Karnak. We have a center for legal and social studies. I spoke with President Macron and suggested working in Egypt in the environmental and water fields,” concluded the president of the French National Center for Scientific Research.

Moreover, the director of one of the French centers operating in Egypt clarified that the center collected 20,000 press clippings and digitalized them in cooperation with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. An electronic portal was also created to serve researchers and those who are interested in the contemporary history of Egypt.

The agreement aims to digitalize the Egyptian press and will be signed by Mostafa el-Feky, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the president of the National Center for Scientific Research, in the presence of the former Minister of the Egyptian public figures Mounir Fakhry.
