CAIRO – 16 December 2018: Famed Syrian singer Assala launched the 15th edition of the Alexandria Music Festival, which was held in Sayed Darwish Theater in Alexandria Opera House; a large audience attended Assala's concert.
It is worth noting that this is the first time the famed Syrian singer participates in the festival. Assala gave up half her wage as a donation for children with special needs.
Auf Hamam is the president of the 15th edition of Alexandria Music Festival in which numerous singers are expected to be honored. Singer and actor Khaled Selim is set to perform in the closing ceremony of the festival.
Assala Mostafa Hatem Nasri was born in May 15, 1969 in Damascus, Syria to a middle class couple. Mostafa Nasri, Assala’s father, was a revered Syrian composer and singer.
The famed singer began her musical career by performing patriotic, religious and children’s songs when she was four years old. She sang the theme song “Qessas Al-Sho’oub” (Stories of the nations) of the cartoon show, “Hekayat Alamiyah” (Universal stories).
