CAIRO - 15 December 2018: Two Egyptian films, "Turab al-Mass” (Diamond Dust) and ''Karma'', are being screened at the 1st edition of the Casablanca Arab Film Festival in Morocco, which runs December 10-15.

Casablanca Arab Film Festival contains three sections: the official competition, Arab Panorama, and Moroccan Panorama.

"Turab al-Mass" is based on the novel of the same name by Ahmed Mourad. The plot revolves around Taha, who works for a pharmaceutical company and lives an extremely boring life with his disabled father.

Taha’s life is turned upside down after a mysterious murder reveals many secrets, dragging Taha into the world of crime and corruption.

Alongside Yassin, the cast includes Menna Shalaby, Maged el-Kidwany, Ezzat al-Alayly, Mohamed Mamdouh, Khaled al-Sawy and Sawsan Badr.

"Karma” revolves around two people who never cross paths, but have common life circumstances.

“Karma” stars Amr Saad, Zeina, Ghada Abdel Razek, Suheir el Ghadban, Khaled el Sawy, Wafaa Amer, Maged el Masry, Dalal Abdel Aziz, Magdy Kamel, Ehab Fahmy, Mostafa Darwish, Hassan Harb and the young child, Birla.

The movie is written and directed by Khaled Youssef, produced and distributed by Masr Arabia Production Company.

The film is scheduled to be released in several Arab countries soon. The film marks famed Egyptian director Youssef's comeback to movie directing after seven years of hiatus.

His last film, “Kaf Qamar” (Qamar’s Hand), was screened in 2011. “Karma” also marks Youssef's fourth collaboration with Amr Saad, the sixth with Ghada Abdel Razek and the third with Wafaa Amer.
