Cairo Steps – Egypt Today.
CAIRO – 3 December 2018: Egyptian/German band Cairo Steps is currently preparing for a series of concerts in Egypt’s different cities in cooperation with the Egyptian Opera House's Ballet team.
Composer Bassem Darwish, the founder of the Egyptian Opera House Ballet team, clarified to Youm7 that he agreed with the ballet team’s leader Armenia Kamel to cooperate with Cairo Steps in presenting their famed song "Dance du Nile" in a new attire.
In the same context, Cairo Steps’ upcoming concert is expected to be the launch of a series of concerts in which the Egyptian/German band will perform with picturesque backgrounds on a stage designed by Osama Bushra.
The concerts in Egypt come as a closure for the band’s yearly concerts. The band is expected to perform in Cairo, Alexandria and Damanhur in cooperation with the Opera House.
The concerts will be launched on Dec. 13 in Sayed Darwish Theater in Alexandria, followed by a concert in Damanhur’s Opera House, in which the band is expected to surprise their fans with plain musical compositions without any singing. The concluding concert will take place in Cairo Opera House on Dec. 16.
The series of concerts in Egypt comes after Cairo Steps were awarded the “Jazz Music Award” in Germany for the album “Flying Carpet” together with “Quadro Nuevo”.
Cairo Steps merges traditional Egyptian and oriental grooves with modern jazz improvisation, classical music and contemporary sounds. The band’s music is influenced by spiritual ethnic music as well as European music traditions.
