Winners of State Awards to be announced Dec. 20

CAIRO – 25 November 2018: Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem announced that the Supreme Council of Culture will resume the annual celebration of the winners of the State Awards after years of hiatus.

In this regard, Abdel Dayem decided to hold a ceremony that is set to take place Dec. 20 to honor the winners of the 2018 State Awards in arts, literature and social sciences at the Grand Theater of the Cairo Opera House.

Abdel Dayem said in an official statement that this initiative comes in light of the government's keenness to celebrate innovators, in recognition of their important role in achieving enlightenment, spreading tolerance and hope for a better future and enhancing human rights.
