CAIRO - 15 November 2018: Hamo Beka and Magdy Shata’s clash raised controversy after they exchanged curses on Twitter and in their concerts.
Hany Shaker, the head of the Musicians’ Syndicate, said: “They have nothing to do with art… I have to end this huge argument on Facebook .They are not listed in the Musicians Syndicate and they do not have a permission to sing so we have to take an action to end this mess.”
Meanwhile, Ashraf Zaki, the head of the Actors’ Syndicate, agrees with Shaker saying: “They commit a criminal act that destroys our society. The society’s reaction was much bigger than that of the syndicate and this is exactly what we need to put an end for this phenomenon.”
Helmy Bakr, a musician, wondered who gives them a permission to appear in the TV and get all that, adding that they should be arrested.
Beka said: “I am so sorry… you have to stand beside us as long as we pay our taxes.”
The clash began when Beka and Shata’s concert was cancelled in Alexandria.
