CAIRO – 10 November 2018: Iconic radio broadcaster Nadia Saleh has died of 78 years old, after she presented a wide range of radio programs that gained great fame back in the 90s.
The Supreme Council for Media Organization mourned the great media presenter who was announced dead Friday.
Born in June 29, 1940, Saleh graduated in Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University in 1970. Before that she studied in the faculty of Medicine, and then moved to the Faculty of Commerce, where she graduated in 1964.
She later obtained a diploma in mass media from Cornell University in the United States in 1984 and another diploma in management from Yokohama Kenshu Center in Japan in 1996.
Before joining the radio as a presenter in the Public Program, Saleh worked at the Central Auditing Organization for six months. Among her famous programs one that features visits to the libraries of celebrities and writers, where she interviewed them including: Late Author Naguib Mahfouz and Singer Abdel Halim Hafez.
She further presented other programs like: Good morning, Diary of a Modern woman, Away from Politics, and Between Arts and Politics.
Saleh assumed several senior positions including: the head of youth programs department, head of cultural programs and head of variety programs. She then held the position of the head of the Middle East network in 1995 until she retired in 2000.
A funeral was held for Saleh on Friday, where her body was buried. Her son told the media that his mother has not suffered from any diseases, and that she only had troubles of ageing.
